It is a marine haven, away from maritime routes. It’s a pearl island, unlike any other in the eastern South Pacific. It is also an island designed to give birth to an ecotourism project making it possible to invent an original form of sustainable tourism, where development and preservation of fauna and flora combine and complement each other in an unprecedented achievement. Ultimately, it’s such a rare occasion that we can call it a daydream. It takes two hours by plane from Tahiti Faa'a International Airport, located 5 km south of Papeete, capital of Polynesia, on the island of Tahiti, to reach Nengo Nengo. It is an atoll located 42 km southeast of Ravahere, its closest neighbor, and 100 km southwest of Hao. It is also administratively attached to the commune of Hao, even though it is a private island. The atoll, oval, measures 13 km long by 8 km maximum width for a land area of 9 km2. Its vast interior lagoon has an area of 67 km2, but has no sea connection. The seamount on which the atoll is located rises to 4,355 m, making it one of the highest seamounts in the archipelago. A private airport, owned by the pearl company, was inaugurated in 1993. The runway is 1,400 meters long, unpaved, traced on the eastern motu. It can be extended by an additional 400 m. The atoll is private, managed by an SCI (reduced acquisition costs) but is not closed to tourism, particularly high-end tourism. It is also within the framework of the development of this exclusive, sustainable and tailor-made tourism that the atoll is put up for sale, with a turnkey development project. Nengo Nengo did not have a navigable pass, so a navigation channel was dug south of the airstrip. It is around this chain that the luxury hotel project was designed. Each owner will be able to invest in maritime pearl concessions, up to 500 m2.
